Vicki L. H. Myers is the Chief of Police of Seaside, California and the Chief of Police of Pacific Grove, California.  Both cities are located on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula. Chief Myers has more than 27 years of law enforcement experience.  Chief Myers served in Michigan and Arizona before accepting the Chief of Police position in Seaside, California. Chief Vicki Myers strives to deliver the highest level of service possible, using efficient and cost effective measures.  She believes in accountability at all levels and has earned a reputation as an open, caring, ethical, no non-sense leader.  Chief Myers believes in a multi-faceted approach to address crime and community issues, including evidence based practices, collaboration, intervention, prevention, technology, regional efforts, and civil remedies. Vicki Myers was the first female promoted to Lieutenant and Chief Deputy within the Ingham County Sheriff's Office.  At the time of her promotion to Chief Deputy, Vicki Myers was the highest ranking female in any Sheriff's Office in the State of Michigan.  Chief Myers is also the first female to serve as Chief of Police in Seaside and Pacific Grove, California.   Vicki Myers has extensive law enforcement experience, including experience as a Deputy, Field Training Officer, Dive Team Member, Canine Handler and Trainer, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Chief Deputy (Ingham County, MI), and as a Commander and Interim Police Chief (Mesa, AZ).   In addition to her formal education, Vicki Myers is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, the DOJ Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Leadership in Police Organizations. Chief Vicki Myers has received numerous awards and recognition throughout her career, to include: -1992 Commendation by the Ingham County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for her investigation and prosecution of a rape, resulting in a conviction of multiple charges.  Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Michael Ferency described her (Vicki Myers) work as:  "superlative," stating her "original investigation was thorough; her reports were well written, detailed and factually accurate," and her "follow-up and assistance in trial preparation was excellent.  In trial (Vicki Myers) assistance was invaluable... All in all, (Vicki Myers) ranks among the highest caliber law enforcement officers in our community." -1994 Officer of the Year (Ingham County, MI) with special recognition from then Governor, John Engler.    -1998 Commendation by the Criminal Justice Women of MI for "...unusal, valuable, or oustanding service..." -2002 Clarissa Young Award for: "Professional Demonstration of Service in the LIne of Duty, Unusual Thoroughness, Conscientiousness, Determination, and Initiative." -2003 Ingham County Commendation for the response and handling of a tanker truck loaded with hazardous material that crashed into a gas station causing the driver to be pinned inside the tanker truck. -2007 Ingham County Commendation for the investigation and successful prosecution of suspects who murdered 7 year old boy.

While attending the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, Vicki Myers volunteered her time to assist those less fortunate, which prompted the FBI Academy Assistant Director to send a letter of appreciation praising Vicki Myers for her service.
